Irish Coffee Ingredients

  • 1 dash of nutmeg powder
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons of Irish whiskey
  • 6 oz. hot, strong, black coffee

Directions For Irish Coffee

Step 1: Make strong black coffee.  I use my coffee maker for this, but you can make the coffee however you are most comfortable—even hot instant coffee can be used.

Step 2: Warm the serving Cup or glass by filling it with hot water and letting it set a minute or two and then dumping out the water.

Step 3: Refill the serving glass with the hot coffee leaving room for the Irish Whiskey

Step 4: Now, add the sugar and Irish whiskey and stir it well.

Step 5: The drink is ready to serve. To serve, garnish it with a spoon of cream and drop nutmeg powder over it. In modern times folks like to froth the cream or use whipped cream.
